Pieter Verdonck has been shaping the brand experience of the renowned Belgian brewery St.Bernardus as marketing manager since 2018. With over 10 years of expertise in the contemporary music industry – serving as marketing manager and European project manager for venues and festivals – Pieter has developed a deep understanding of experience marketing, artist promotion, hospitality, customer experience, digital strategies, media partnerships and governmental support programs.

In addition to his role at St.Bernardus, Pieter launched his own marketing agency five years ago, specializing in guiding brands, events and companies in developing storytelling, communication and marketing strategies.

At St.Bernardus and its affiliated Ypres-based Kazematten Brewery, Pieter oversees full-scale brand development, curating every touchpoint to deliver a cohesive and authentic brand experience. The abbey-style brewery, internationally celebrated for crafting some of the world’s finest beers, has positioned itself as a true destination, a modern-day pilgrimage site featuring overnight accommodations. Nestled in the heart of Belgium’s hop-growing region, just a stone’s throw from the French border, St.Bernardus offers an unparalleled experience for beer enthusiasts.

Each year, over 100 000 visitors travel to Watou to savor the brewery’s world-class beers at Bar Bernard, a 360° rooftop bar boasting breathtaking panoramic views of Flanders’ Fields. In the summer of 2023, the brewery launched an ambitious new visitor experience with its revamped Brewery Tour. Replacing traditional guided tours, this immersive concept brings the history of the brewery to life, demystifies the brewing process and offers guests an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse into the art of beer making.
